American Heritage Merit Badge at Camp Floyd

Here’s something cool your Troop could do for one of their monthly outings…

Why not visit the historic Camp Floyd State Park in Fairfield, Utah to work on the American Heritage Merit Badge and earn the Historic Trails Award? Organized as Johnston’s Army Adventure Camp, your overnight stay would be in pioneer-style military tents at a real army camp that dates back to 1858!

Check out this video clip from a recent episode of At Your Leisure:

What a neat way to experience a little bit of American history, shoot some Civil War-era guns and feel what it was like to be a soldier in pioneer days.

Other Info

This two-day program is offered only 16 weekends each year.  Fees are $20 per boy / adult, which includes all camp materials and breakfast.  While sleeping accommodations are included as mentioned above, scouts will need to provide their own sleeping gear.  Camp size is limited to 30 scouts and leaders.

For more details and contact information, visit the Utah State Parks website.

Am finding only a 2012 schedule for Camp Floyd camp for boy scouts. I have a group of new scouts I would like to bring late april or early may. When will you be coming out with a schedule so that I can make reservations? Bryan Fishburn, scoutmaster Troop 197
